There's a reason that Shania Twain was a massive crossover success and one of the most successful female recording artists of all time. I was a teenager when she hit her peak and I'd say she is probably one of the few people that actually deserves all the hype that was around her. She's pretty incredible. Last I checked, her album "Come On Over" is the ninth most successful album of all time.

Edit: Just looked it up. It's actually the best selling country album of all time. The best selling album from a Canadian artist. And it is the eighth overall best selling album of all time. So yes, incredibly successful.
