Im British and Australian and i am always going to support this idea. Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK are the same and it made no sense that they would leave Britian back then.

It's a taboo to acknowledge Canada's history in the Empire currently.
Honestly just increasing freedom of movement or allowing Australians to work here would be amazing.

It would be awesome if Australia, Canada, Britain, and New Zealand all joined to form the United Anglosphere. 🙋🏻‍♂️

We can’t even get visa-free travel in the Anglosphere so there’s not much hope for CANZUCK

I think a British guy described Britain, Britain is a Bulgaria with a tax haven staple on it.

I’m an Australian who has remained loyal to the British crown, so this idea is literally a dream to me. Unfortunately, I don’t think that at least here, there’s an appetite for a closer relation to Britain again. For as the immigrant population grows, more and more of the population don’t consider Britain to be the homeland anymore, so even in the span of a few more generations, I can see our identity being highly ‘multicultural’ and divided, rather than one who looks back at the empire with fondness, which I think would be required for a united Anglo-sphere to be in the cards.

As a federalist western European I was sad to see the UK leave the EU. But I wish the best for them and I think CANZUK would be the best thing that could happen for them and the rest of the members. They need eachother and to be honest I agree with them, the world needs them together. Europe has to remain focused on uniting an defending Europe, America looks like it needs time for itself right now and the west needs a strong arm in the Pacific. CANZUK could be that strong arm. We can only hope.

As half Canadian half English, i wouldn't mind this. Although, if it doesn't happen, I want to petition to the crown to take one of the king's sons and grant him the kingdom of Canada, create duchy titles across canada, then give me a duchy or two for proposing the idea ;)

You could literally do this by a treaty that just agreed to a common trade and foreign affairs policy. Our military’s all already report to the King or his Governor.

The funny thing is, is that US helped dismantle The British Empire. One of the key events was the Suez crisis when the US backed Egypt. From that point on it can be argued Britain's Empire and influence really crumbled.

As a Brit I don’t want to exclude my country from the world, the commonwealth should not be thought of as colonies of the empire but extensions of Britain as an idea, when the empire isn’t so recent, people will look at it in the same way they see the Roman and Greek empires, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland (totally get why ROI doesn’t like us 100% respect that frfr), Canada, New Zealand, Australia, anyone who identifies with the values of a Great Britain, imagine the empire with the morals we have now

Given the current insufficiency of both the US and EU in promoting globalized interconnectedness due to internal culture and partisan conflicts, a newly rebooted Anglo union could play the connecting role, being the bridge between US and EU as well as also providing better relations to the broad Asian and Indo-Pacific region. Such a broad "network of networks" could provide the stability needed to save globalization, which is worth fighting for as a slip back into isolationism will probably cause a economic and civilizational regression due to the worldwide dependency on complex supply chains in our current era.

I have been watching this for a few years now. As a Canadian I fully support this idea. It is coming together slowly. Visa requirements are being lifted in certain areas to "test the waters" and work out any problems while greater trade agreements are being reached. The CANZUK idea benefits us all, including countries not involved. It makes sense.

It’s not always a “need, sometimes it’s a want” and the answer to both is a fat YES

It be hard to administrate two continents thousands of kilometers away if the capital is London. Also Quebecs existence doesnt help

I’m an American and most of my heritage is (proudly) founding stock Anglo/British and I would love the idea of the US being a part of this and embracing its Anglo foundation. But sadly you’re right the US is too far removed at this point. There’s always a chance tho as even tho we have a lot of differences, the common language will always keep us somewhat united.
