I dont get why people dont like the card. It is a way more modern method to unlock your car. You can easily carry it around in your purse, there is no need for a big key anymore...

Idea: When someone robs the car, let the car call 911 and the car will lock the doors so they can’t get out. Also make the car drive to the police station

As a day #1 reservation holder with a ready-to-configure order, and a huge fan of the Tesla mission of transition to clean electric transportation, I'd like to propose some constructive feedback regarding the key card...

For those of us who's cell phone runs out of battery, becomes stolen, gets dropped and Bluetooth inadvertently disabled or damaged, locks due to an over the air apple software update, who's toddler decides to hide daddy's phone (or worse yet drop it in the toilet), for folks who leave their phone in their car while working out, going to the beach, pool, and other non-friendly cell phone environments, for flip phone users, or for those of us who enjoy getting away from the yoke of continual streams of text messages and Internet connectedness and just plain don't carry a smart phone around with them 24/7, I propose the following question:

Do you think that after in such enumerated circumstances it is practical, and most importantly safe, for my wife or daughter to have to fumble through her purse at night in a dark parking lot while standing next to her Model 3 searching for her wallet, opening and flashing it to potential thieves and criminals, pulling out the key card, and gliding it around the B-pillar waiting for the car to detect the RFID signal and unlock? Can you see how this is dangerous? Adding a traditional remote keyless system with smart approach, like most traditional vehicles, would enable the vehicle to be ready for entry when the owner approaches the door and be much safer for those instances where communication with the driver's cell phone is inoperable or not present.
