If you watch, it seems like Price was simply going to sign some gear etc and give the kid some time but when the kid broke down, Carey becomes incredibly consoling, taking off his gear and giving the kid a moment of solace. Awesome humanity on display there. Simple acts of kindness won't bring this young mans mother back but it will give him hope in dark days. Thank you Carey

Anderson only asked for Carey to sign a goaltender stick, and walked away with more than his young arms could handle, including a truly heartfelt hug from his favorite player on the planet. This is by far the best story the league will publish this season. I made it about 35 seconds before I began bawling. My thoughts to the McKay family, and my hats off to both the Maple Leaf and Canadien organizations for making this a reality.

When Carey told media and fans to 'Chill out" a few years ago, it demonstrated his character, commanded respect and solidified his place among elite players. I'm a senior Leafs fan (so old that I remember when they last won the Cup!) but you've given our rivalry Montreal Canadiens sweater new pride for all past, current and future players.
