You can say this is Genshin's first major death, You could say Signora, but for a God...? Yes this is the first one.

for Clarity:
-Focalors and Furina are 2 separate entities, Focalors is a Divine God, Furina is her Humanity.
-Only Focalors Died, Not Furina.
-Focalors Intent was to wipe out one of the thrones of the 7, which means there is no longer a Hydro Archon, only 6 Archons remain. (the Hydro Archon throne is erased from the 7)
-Usually when a God dies, their residue is powerful enough to cause some sort of explosion or contaminate the area they died in, but I'm assuming Focalors planned for her powers to be absorbed by Neuvillette after she died.
-Fontaine is Not under the judgement of Celestia anymore, it is strictly governed by Neuvillette alone.
-The Hydro Archons Divinity was destroyed, meaning the Authority over Hydro belongs to The Hydro dragon once again. (Zhongli’s Divinity is still present, meaning he is still a throne even tho he retired.)
-Focalors was required to die to fulfill her justice, since her existence as an Archon is an Unjust effect of the Hydro Dragons power being stolen, as long as a Divine Being of Hydro exists, The Hydro dragon would never be Justified.

In short, The existence of a Hydro throne/Archon is a wrong doing against the Hydro Dragon, meaning Focalors knew she needed to not only Kill herself but also her Divinity to return The authority over Hydro back to Neuvilette, for as long as her Divinity lives, The Hydro Dragon will never get their Justice.

Focalors never wanted to be a God, she wanted to be Human.

Neuvillette's shaking breath and the sight stumble in his step when Focalors was executed broke my heart. It must've wrecked him.

I still remember when I thought that the hydro archon is a dog of celestia due to them being scared of the heavenly principles. Focalors giving the biggest middle finger by executing herself and the throne is such a great plot twist

Okay, she is the God of justice but she has the wits of the God of wisdom.
She is still good at delivering justice just as well.
She has the vision of the God of eternity.
She has the sense of freedom as the God of freedom.
She is true to her "self contract" like the God of contracts.
She outwitted the Heavenly Principles themselves.
This lady is underrated ✨✨✨✨✨

I can see why the Hydro powers of the traveler mimic that of Neuvillette and not Furina. She was just human.

Both Furina and Focalor is a goat with Furina withstanding centuries of immortality without once having her mind erode. And Focalor decide to trick the HP so she could avoid Fontaine from being wipe off from the map.

I love how the ending of this archon quest is not some cliche "we prevented the bad thing from happening", but instead "we can't stop the bad thing from happening. but we can do something about it". Not a single character was wasted out of opportunity from this whole chapter. All the setups from the first act were paid off until the final act. Even the closure of the story ended with satisfaction. Yes, Inazuma chapter was a huge disappointment, but this? This exceeded my expectations. I believe the writers team learned from their mistakes from Inazuma chapter and managed to subvert expectations in the most satisfying way possible. I can't wait what will chapter 5 have for us.

This means Neuvillette is now the ruler of Fontaine(?), as a hydro dragon sovereign, and Focalors returning what truly belongs to him! Focallette angst

4:40 So Focalors is/was Hydro Archon but Furina has Focalors' spirit and has the body she gained when Egeria turned her human. So Focalors here is just her divinity and powers that have formed some sort of consciousness (like Rukkhadevata's remaining consciousness at Irminsul not really being true Rukkhadevata).

Sooo... What I can conclude that Furina is "Focalors before she became an archon." Soo... Furina = Focalors, but Furina =/= Hydro Archon. Focalors isn't dead, just her godhood. She's now a normal human like she always desired.
