My Seiko 5 snk809 had that exact same problem with the rotor noise on the back and just tightening the screw brought it back to life. A lot of time and money saved. Can't thank you enough.

So glad I found this video. I've had an orange Seiko diver's watch that I really liked but it developed the same problem -- intermittent stopping. I'd put it on the night stand and it would have stopped cold, randomly. Tried your technique and gave it a tiny drop of watch oil, and now it works great! Thanks so much for posting this vid, one of my favorite watches is back on my wrist.

I love the honesty - if it looks wrong, it's because it probably is... Props bud. Research, then get some hands-on experience. It's how getting good starts.

You probably did fix your winding problem, however if it were some other problem causing the watch to stop, you would have to wait a while for the second hand to hang up. So rotor hang up or second hand hang up? You probably got it but you will have to wait until that wind goes down before knowing for sure. Nice little video by the way.

I had the same problem. It would run for a couple of minutes and stop! So I’m going to try your fix! Fingers crossed!!

I had this issue. Tightening the screw didnt help but a little light oil on the counterweight bearing really helped.
