'6teen' - Lesbian Co-Worker

This was not uploaded to mock homosexuals, bisexuals, or transgenders! I only uploaded this video to show a moment from the Canadian cartoon "6teen" that I found awkward, considering how the show was rated 'G' in Canada.

For those of you who have watched "6teen" in the past, whether frequently or rarely, do you remember this scene? I haven't watched "6teen" religiously, but I don't recall this instance between Nikki and Jean.

I fucking love how this turns the whole "I'm worried the gay person is attracted to me" plotline and just breezes by that idea. I remember as a kid watching this and it was probably my first exposure to a gay character or even the concept of being gay. I like how they just say it and don't make a big deal out of it. It's refreshing then you remember this show is from the mid 2000's and it treats the gay character more like a normal person than some shows today.

This is how it should be with representation. No undertones, not confirmed on Twitter, no subtle joke, no beating around the bush. She just said it like it is. Nowadays it's either heavily implied or confirmed on twitter. At best we get a show on HBO max fully showing off the couple.

The "are we still friends?" Means that somone has probably stoped being her friend in the past for that and that makes me so sad... I want to be her friend and she's not even real

This was my show back in the day and I don't remember once questioning the girl's sexuality. I just saw it as something completely normal when I was a kid and I still do, even though my parents never talked about it. Kids really don't care about people's sexuality unless the parents make them hateful.

I like how they handled it. Nikki wasn't being rude and the other girl understood why nikki was trying to do. She respectfully answered nikki question and didn't make it a big deal. Plus she is really relatable since some LGBTQ do behave like her
