Papa Tirozzi's is among the businesses impacted by severe flooding in Vermont after a flash flooding emergency. St. Johnsbury received nearly 8.5 inches of rain on Tuesday. Co-owner Nancy Tirozzi describes waking up to a "life-threatening flood" emergency at 4 a.m. and having trouble getting to her business because of flooding.

Rainstorms don't "bubble up". They "rain down" water from the sky. And when you choke the floodplain with culverts, roads, and dams, the water will seek alternate pathways and bring sediment with it. It's not entirely unexpected.

Ya the video is red village road in Lyndonvile are rivers can’t handle that much water plus all the debris blocks everything and forces the water over the roads it’s making it hard to get around. I’d never think it would flood by that restaurant that’s rt 2 main road through the state east to west

Is this area an area known for flooding and water? If it is why would you choose this area for your businesses and homes? They seem to have extreme weathers.

No idea ? I live in upstate NY and they were warnings all over TV since yesterday morning about 8” of rain coming to northern VT. Try watching the weather reports and get your head out of the clouds. It’s also widely known how widely susceptible VT is to flooding. They’ve had multiple severe flooding events the last 10 years.

Gosh were so dry in my place in California there battling huge fire 🔥 and this one flooding gosh due to climate change and some other countries thier dealing with to much flooding
