What is an adjective phrase? How do you identify adjective phrases? A prepositional phrase that modifies a noun or a pronoun is called an Adjective Phrase. An adjective phrase tells what kind or which one.

EXAMPLE:
We ordered a dish of fish and chips.
[Of fish and chips modifies the noun dish, telling what
kind of dish.]

No one in the group has heard the story yet.
[In the group modifies the pronoun no one, telling which one.]

An adjective phrase generally follows the word it modifies.
