Warning: Do Not Warp on the Light Cone Banners in Honkai: Star Rail

The Lightcone or weapon banners of Honkai: Star rail seem enticing, but I believe they are a terrible investment of your Stellar Jade and money! I wouldnt ever recommend it.

Best part about star rail is that no matter the lightcones, the character’s weapon is still going to be their own drip weapon unlike genshin with that pain of seeing the wrong weapon drip on ur fav character

The good part about the weapon banner tho is that if you lose, the Guranteed pity continues to the next banners too unlike Genshin where even if you lose twice, the Guranteed gets removed in the next banner as the epitomised path resets.

Exactly. A key difference between Star Rail's light cones (equivalent to weapons) and Genshin's weapons is that in Star Rail, the passives are the only thing you really need to pay attention to. You can level it up and get more HP & Atk & Def true, but you won't increase the passive unless you refine it with a copy.

It's honestly probably better to roll for the characters instead of the light cones IMO.

We can also get 5* lightcones in the "stardust" shop (dunno how its called in Honkai). I rolled today Gepardś signature lightcone and then i searched around in the shop and realized you can buy it for 600 (stardust, again dont remember the name but you get me hopefully)

To be fair. The In The Night passive is insane. But yeah good point in video. If you have hunt and destruction it makes sense to go for the seele special light and then max out destruction asap. 2 high dmg dealers early in progression. As a f2p i wouldn’t spend on banner, but in the short term (a few weeks). The hunt light banner is superb.

The 4 star weapons in this game is generally better compared to Genshin Impact where most of the weapons are usable to every character unlike Genshin where there are a lot of niche weapons and for every situation, weapons like fav, ttds or Widsith dominate in every way, other support weapons lose value because of them. Ironically, I accidentally wished on the light cone banner and I got bailu's signature weapon in one pull just after getting Bailu herself, lol.

Compared to Genshin the Light Cone banner is still "better" compared to weapon banner. Later on when people start to have more currency saved up I think you can still go for the Light Cone Banner to equip your favourite Waifu/Husbando with their designated BIS light cone. :) No stupid path you have to chose, no 33% for the desired weapon and no 3x pity is huge in my eyes.

I mentioned this somewhere else, but I don't think the 'weapon' banner is actually gonna make them much money on HSR.

On Genshin, we all know the weapon banner is bait, but lets be honest, we're not _just_ rolling for weapons only for the stats and perks, we're also rolling on them because the weapon itself looks sick.
Staff of Homa looks awesome on Hu Tao. Engulfing Lightning looks awesome on Raiden Shogun. We want those weapons not just because they will make our characters stronger, but also because they'll look sick on them.

The Light Cones on Honkai are just....there. You don't see them on your character. Ever. It might as well be just a playing card in their pocket!
It honestly doesn't mean shit what perks and stats it's got on it, if I can't see it and it doesn't make my character look cooler, I'm _much less_ inclined to spend my wishes on that banner!

Shit, some of the 3-star light cones seem pretty awesome, stat-wise, anyway! I've already got plenty of 4-stars, and you can even buy 5-stars from vendors, so I think HoYo know they ain't making much off the weapon banner on this game.

Actually I think a lot of people dont know but in the herta store you can buy the superimposer for only 2 of her money (versus 8 for the weapon), and each of those can power up the weapons she sells so if you go for those you can actually max out the weapon in 2 months

good light cones will be big improvements for characters, but early on everyone will be really strapped for elemental characters. you can go crazy on light cones to get your seele really strong, but for example if you don't have welt you have 0 imaginary damage characters.
personally i think its just best to get more characters and fill out all of the different elements than trying to hyper invest a single character.

It's like Honkai 3rd, without the lightcone you're using the using at it's 80% potential, still pretty good, but the lightcone is gonna give it a pretty big boost, not essential. basically if you wanna pull in he lightcone banner you just have to prepare for it, and I don't think it's possible to even attempt in he seele banner, not enough time.

I was hesitant to fully level a 3 star light cone but with this info im glad i dont have to save my resources for a 5% increase 👍

The free ones are ok for now but i can see them releasing supports with broken lightcones very soon. Like providing shield every turn passively or energy regen every turn. You're underestimating those passives.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing, I just believe he’s appreciating his time more with the game than he did with Genshin. What do you think though?
