Alligators: Who are you?

Crocodiles: I'm you but more vicious.

If I see that thing I’ll immediately assume it wants to eat me

This feels like a dinosaur exhibit since it looks like a Mosasaur

So for clarification, this is actually an American crocodile by the name of Hannibal at Zoo Miami. He never attacks anyone in the tunnel unless you constantly tap on the glass. He’s actually pretty chill tbh. It can be hard to tell them apart from saltwater crocs, but everything he said about saltwater crocs is relevant as of right now.

The death roll as he said breaks and tears limbs of your body. To counter it, attempt to roll on the same direction as the crocodile. If that dosent work, jam you fingers in its nose and eyes to make the crocodile realise its jaw. DO NOT and i reapeat DO NOT put your hands in its jaw as that will litterly rip and tear your hand off.

Yeah that's... that's horrifying. Breaking every bone in your body and then dragging you to the bottom of the water. One of the many reasons why I don't go outside often.

If I were in that situation even if I knew the crocodile couldn’t touch me I still would never taunt it.

Fun fact: a precursor of crocodiles during dinosaur times was called Sarcosuchus, and it was bloody MASSIVE. Some say it could kill a T-rex (although they didn't live in the same era)

Honestly feels like it’d make a great scene for a horror movie, crocodile breaks through the supposedly safe glass and water comes flooding into the tunnel as everyone panics and gets unalived

this reminds me of being like 7 year old barking at the dogs lmao, kind of the same thing

Theyre also known to legitimately hunt people to eat them. Truly terrifying beasts

Low key, this guy probably saved our lives at one point

They’re also the only animal that will actively hunt you.

I'm so glad where I live there are no such things as crocodiles. Saw videos of massive salties lurking in small bodies of waters which is absolutely terrifying to think of!

This is why alligators are called swamp puppies…but you won’t hear anyone call a croc a swamp puppy.

Theres a video online from years ago, and it shows a huge salty coming out of the surf at an Aussie beach, and walking its way past people ignoring everyone, intent on its business. I wonder if it is a actually a she and a mother, anout to nest and lay her eggs.

Fun fact- Salty mothers are awesome. Some Sea Turtle mothers will purposely lay her eggs in a nest next to a salty mother's nest because the turtle mum knows that salty mum goes into full mum mode during nesting and after. As her baby salties hatch, she sits with her mouth open and waits for the firdt hatchlings to climb into her mouth, turns around, heads down to the surf, gently carrying her babies and depisits them into the water. Turns around and heads back to her nest to wait with her mouth open for the next lot of babies. During this she is so protective and mothering, as the baby turtles start hatching and digging themselves out of the nest, they instinctively know to jump into mother Salty's mouth, hitching a ride right along side the salty babies, giving them a bit more of a chance at survial as mother salty deposits them into the water too.
