On my first job, I decided that 5 dollars a hour would be a good amount for one kid. But... the little boy I was sitting was sick... like throw up sick. I'm happy about that. It taught me a lot about babysitting, and how you should be prepared for anything. Even if it's a 4 year old boy puking all over your jean jacket. I had another vomit-related situation 2 years later. I was able to handle it very well!

Omg this is helpful. How do I convince my MOM I’m not getting payed too much? She thinks I’m just helping out and should be paid not much. Everytime she arranges something, she tells people 9-10 dollars an hour, even for multiples. Like she got onto on of the parents who hired me because he paid me 12.50 an hour. LIKE FULL ON ARGUED WITH THIS GUY OVER IT-
My current rate is 12-13 dollars, depending on amount of kids, duration, time of day, etc.
my mom thinks babysitting isn’t a real job and I’m over paying and should be “happy with what I get”.
Im trained, I did an 8 hour 97$ class (out of my own birthday money) to be certified. She still believes im just doing people favors and should be payed way less.
