I thought that hybrids were the best alternative until I found the stratospheric amount manufacturers charge for battery replacement. I'll stick with gas at least for the near future.

Mazda has stated...CX-5 is urban world car and CX50 is off road American. CX-5 isn't going away.

The new cx 5 will have the rav 4 hybrid in it giving it a huge bump in all performance .If Honda doesn't fix things people will no longer buy the CRV.

When I see it in the showrooms or on the street I'll believe it. Till then, yawn.

I own a CX-50, and I don't see it replacing the CX-5 anytime soon, because they're really very different vehicles. The CX-5 is very much a "mommie-mobile", and seems targeted at soccer mom's with child seats in the back. (This is only a generalization). The CX-50 is much sportier, and seems more targeted at a male clientele.
