Everyone has he/her own perception of the world. As A Nepali, the video that Karl made hits on our pride and respect for our country. Yes, Nepal is a developing country that has a lot of bureaucratic corruption on all levels and till this day we still experience it. Karl has pointed out a lot of "tourist traps" not only in Nepal but also other countries. This is common during travel but, it is highly annoying as it reflects on how the locals are willing to sell a certain Image of the country to a foreigner for personal gain instead of a collective gain. I have many foreign friends that has come to Nepal for a visit and they also get offered drugs/girls out in the open when they actually just wanted to experience the real beauty of Nepal. But these small-time, short-term, poverty mindset, desperate dealers always leave a bad taste in their mouth about Nepal. I guess it is our duty to inform foreigners from what is truly going on and prepare them for the Visit to Nepal. They are the indirect consequence of corruption in our country. Instead of Banning him I think we must educate him on the local ways, that there is more beauty and love in Nepal than he has experienced. Hating on a person only brings the eventual hate to us. Lets make our Land better for our children.

I agree! No one forced him to purchase anything. Paintings values are based on how it is perceived by the viewers and the painter's name. He should be banned from Nepal too, nothing he's conveyed so far of Nepal has been positive. He goes around bargaining and haggling local shop keepers which is not appropriate!

Tourists read Nepalese live on less than a dollar a day and they think this is the place to go. There are so many cheap tourists, tourists who cannot afford NYC or London. So they come to Nepal. When people act disrespectful the local people come to resent tourists. But when there are few tourists the rent still goes on. Do people think Nepalese don't need money? It's very difficult for families in Kathmandu to survive in a middle-class lifestyle. Even some YouTubers make videos about living in Nepal on a dollar a day. If you don't have at least $20 a day to spend in Nepal you really cannot call yourself a tourist; you're an immigrant.

I had watched his recent video abt Thanka shop's scam which was really baseless. As a matter of fact, we can understand watevr the Karl is doing ( he is not telling viewers wat to do against scammer but to gain views by potraying and steriotyping wrong images ) affects the mentality of that friendly guide and artists on that video. Even more i had posted my genuine reply in the pinned comment in that video about the Thankas and inappropriate informations and links related to the Thanka. But after few minutes i found out that he literally deleted that pinned comment where i replied at first. i understand he is tourist and doing all this for indirect money frm youtube vlogs but instead of acknowledging he is misleading the viewers that i found very insane and cringe.

I can say that Your video isnt offensive frm any side as Your videos shows his image just like he showed Nepal in his video.

He did not create any scams. A lot of tourists face these situations when they come to Nepal and It's good to inform them. Nothing wrong with that. Stop with the excessive nationalism and learn to take criticism about your country.

Wherever you go Nepal, Delhi.Goa or kerala indian people are, and have been merchants for thousands of years.They are hardworking Shopkeepers and their survival depends on selling their Merchandice.Whats wrong with that? i've had great fun and developed friendships whilst buying in India.Yes, they will get the best price they can and good luck to them.Of course Karl Rock sees everything in India as a SCAM everything as DISHONEST everything as a TRAP or something DODGY. I'm a long time Karl Rock viewer. His scam videos have never been my favorite. I like more of the travel vids of his as well as when he meets local people. I think, based on what I saw I would hope travel to Nepal one day to experience the natural beauty it possesses. If you take a larger view of what he did on Nepal it is mostly positive.

By the way, I live in US near a city whose economy is based on tourism and we have our share of scammers and are somewhat notorious for it. If KR came here he should focus not only on scammers, but how to protect yourself from actual violence -- armed robbery and assaults. I got the feeling from watching his vids in Nepal that it is a safe and interesting place to visit with lots to do and experience.

If what KR showed is indicative of the heights of scam artistry in Nepal -- some overpriced artwork -- it's pretty tame.
