Timothy Jones Jr. appeals murder conviction

Jones has been sentenced to death for killing his five children.

When sentenced to death he was done a favour as I am sure on death row they are separate from main prison population. He wouldnt have lasted 5 minutes if in the main population as I am sure with such a high profile case it wouldnt have taken long for other inmates to know about. Even hardened criminals and murderers do not take kindly to child killers. I am sure he would continue to try to appeal even after this one as he has never accepted responsibility. Yes he said he killed them but tried to plead insanity to save himself. So still not truly accepted responsibility. It is all about him. He I am sure like some others will string this out as long as he can. I understand the average case on death row can be 10 years and some cases much longer. That is why he didn't panic when told the sentence. He knows the system of course by now. I am myself not too sure I agree with capital punishment generally but on the other hand in cases like this and his whole attitude to it, it really irks me knowing, even if his freedom has been taken, that he can eat and drink and read or whatever he does for enjoyment every single day knowing that he has years of that to come.. His children will never have the chance to have good days, bad days or anything in between. So his worst day is better than they can even experience. I get why with people like him that most want the death penalty but I also think many dont know the system and that that is not the end of it and it is not an instant thing. The process of appeal protects the innocent or those wrongfully convicted of the maximum penallty but unfortunately at the same time it also protects the guilty.

What are the odds these appeals will actually work? Whether the sentence is commuted or someone will actually believe the insanity defense?
