I love the honesty and lack of drama in your videos. In a world of sensationalist headlines, it is so refreshing.

Anton is the only youtuber I've seen where 99% of the comments are complimenting him. It's well deserved and good to see

To be honest Anton, your videos make my worst days SO much better. I look forward to your videos everyday. They are posted at 6PM EST. It's nice to be an adult and still look forward to things I used too as a kid. You bring that nostalgic informative education that I sadly did not take seriously when I was younger. Thank you for what you do and the wonderful person YOU are. I am sure I'm not the only one. You may not feel like it but in some cases you're saving lives.

I remember clicking on his videos years ago when I was going through some tough depression, and somehow hearing him call me a wonderful person made life and the way I felt about myself a little better.

So basically you’re saying this is alien armada attacking and exploding an enemy planet. Thank you Anton!

obviously a catastrophic collapse of the supra-luminal drive field of an alien craft. glad to help

thanks for the information anton. hopefully we'll hear more of this topic at a later date as we learn more

Anton, thank you for your detailed and careful presentation of events and the various possible explanations for them. Thank you also for not putting "shock statements" in your video titles. The main thing I get from your efforts is the realization that the steady improvement of the instruments used to study the universe make it possible for us tp see more and more of what is out there. It wasn't that long ago that Galileo pointed a small telescope at Jupiter and saw things that completely changed our sense of the Solar System. The word science comes from a Greek word that means Knowledge. Science is about accumulating data and trying to figure out why. The answers may change, but the search for knowledge and trying figure it out is what's important.

Regarding them dimming so quickly, I wonder if it is because they are out in the middle of nowhere without any galactic gas to help sustain the luminosity shockwave brightness. Kind of the equivalent of no Air to help sustain an explosion. And my other thought was out in the middle of nowhere any two objects anywhere near each other are going to be the only gravity game in town and should be gravitationally attracted to each other.
Cheers Anton, thanks for the daily thought provoking videos.

They could theoretically be white holes. A sudden outflow of intense blue light from superheated matter forced out of the event horizon before it quickly collapses into a black hole and consumes most of the matter again. The events do seem to match what we might expect them to behave like.

Michigan here... really liked this video. So interesting to hear about something odd happening in space. Like how you went through so many possible solutions to the mystery.

"Orbiting around the galaxy in a very eccentric fashion." What a perfect metaphor for my relationship to normal society!

This is OBVIOUSLY a FTL ship engine going Prompt Critical =) We know Matter/Antimatter mix is finicky. I have personally seen many Ships explode on T.V.

Evaporating low mass black holes... darn those Kugelblitz drives are bloody dangerous!

Love the summer creases in his shirt. Some are creased here and some are creased there.

I once read about a galaxy located roughly in the center of a massive void, so far from any other galaxy that the light from them wouldn't have reached them until the 1960's. Imagine there being only a few stars in the night sky, then suddenly the sky explodes with millions more stars from out of nowhere and proof that not only is your galaxy not the only one in existence/the entirety of the universe, there are in fact billions of them.

It would be something like the Krikkit aliens from Hitchhiker's Guide leaving their nebula and discovering the rest of the galaxy exists.

Plot twist, we just witnessed an extremely distant (and therefore ancient) weapons test. Just that little bit of cosmic horror for everyone out there thinking about the fermi paradox.

i exploded once, in the middle of nowhere but this was to recent to have been me

Does anyone know if it is impossible for these to be "mini-bangs?" Like maybe the quantum fluctuations in middle of nowhere are somehow more likely to produce bigger events than the tiny spontaneous particles that we can detect via the Casimir effect?
