i had a similar idea. i've already got a leather bound notebook, but the stain on the leather seeps into the paper. and so i was thinking of making a rigid insert thats essentially a printed spine and divider at the bkack/front, and maybe make it also be a stationary holder layer in front for pens, pencils, rulers etc.
