I rook the bus From Heraklion to Irapetra and From Irapetra an other bus to Mirtos.

The drive is not actually through the city center of Ierapetra, it is passed by the circuit road. The city center, downtown, old town and new town are left on the left side of the road and the newest suburbs on the right. Until the second stop at traffic lights and turning right, when the city of Ierapetra is left behind. From the first stop at traffic lights and turning left you could go to the city center.
