MORE PEOPLE NEED TO TALK ABOUT HOW SWEET LYDIA IS!!! This is one of my favorite moments and I love Malec more than anything, but seriously, Lydia was one of my favorites. She went through so much and even though she was about to get left on the altar, she 100% supported Alec because she just wanted him to be happy. She didn’t freak out or make a scene, she just smiled and told him it was okay. Literally an angel, we stan.

You gotta love everyone’s reactions, Jace, Izzy, Clary & Simon are all happy for him, the silent brother does the confused head tilt, Alec’s mother looks like she’s going to have a stroke and his father doesn’t know where to look so his looking anywhere but directly at them.

Even though we’ve had many amazing Malec scenes since this one, I have to say that this scene is still probably the most special given the way that Alec abandons his inhibitions and just goes for it! His determination and fearlessness are incredible and that kiss is just so amazing!

I think Lydia is so downplayed here. She was someone who accepted Alec as he is, for who he is and cared for him even if they weren't in love. She did not get malicious and did not allow herself to show any embarrassment but only kindness, acceptance, appreciation and love.

She was someone who did this for Alec that was from the outside. She wasn't close with anyone close to him, she wasn't in love with him, shes a true friend that tried to do her best for him and when he decided he had to choose differently she encouraged him to do what was best for him and not be obligated to her.

That's true love, guys. That's a real friend who wants you to thrive.

Alec is loyal to those who show him kindness even of he doesn't like them. He is loyal to family who mistreat him. He is just loyal. She knew that if she didn't encourage him to go for it, and tell him she was okay and put on that face that he may never take his shot.

Okay, I have definitely broken the replay button. It’s 2022 and I am rewatching the series and hit by the Malec bug…again. Did anyone else notice that Magnus dressed up (check the scene before it for the difference in his clothing and hair) - did his hair and clothes and jewelry, the whole shebang - before coming to the wedding? Wanted to make himself irresistible. I have melted into a puddle. Going back to rewatching this a 1000 times more. Keep the love alive everywhere, everyone. ❤️
