The Main reason I use a credit card as apposed to a debit card is that in case of Identity Theft it's much easier to contest charges on your credit card rather than get your actual money back.

Dave, thank you for your advice all those years ago. I have been 100% debt free for about 7 years now. Turns out I was a credihaulic. My behavior with credit cards and lines of credit was that of an addict. My recovery looked a lot like a 12 step program within your baby steps. First, I had to admit to myself and my loved ones that I had a real problem with credit. But now I am free.

My husband travels a lot for work. Of course we should be capitalizing on hotel and airline points. We pay for entire vacations with those points. We always pay off the balance. In our situation, it would be foolish to not take advantage of the benefits from cc's.

I've gotten into credit card debt time and again and ALWAYS made it my priority to pay it off and always have. It took months sometimes years but at 29 ive learned my lesson. i will NEVER understand people who don't pay their cc bills. it puts a rainy cloud over my head everyday until its paid.

The benefit of using a credit card is that if there is a fraudulent charge, the money does not come out of your bank.

The person can dispute the charge before paying the bill.

I use a credit card for purchasing anything in public for this reason.

My paid off credit card pays me $200 every 3 months for my purchases. As long as your responsible your dumb to not take free money.

People who have debt shouldn't use credit cards. People who are debt free and budgeting can use credit cards as long as they pay them off and aren't paying any interest. The benefits of CC is cash back. I get 2% on each purchase. Thanks to Dave we have been debt free other than mortgage for 3 years.

I pay off the balance each month and have a visual record of my spending habits all lined up on one piece of paper. Reward points apply toward paying off my phone. NO MORE CHECK WRITING!

I am European, not American. You can't get a rental car here without a credit card. And there is one undeniable advantage of credit cards: If they are stolen and money is thus debited from your account, then the credit card company will reimburse the loss incurred. The prerequisite is that the owner of the credit card has not acted negligently. However, if you use credit cards, you always have to keep an eye on your finances. My account has never been in the red, with or without a credit card.
