In the video I state the DIY is abandoned but it turns out the building is repurposed for a cabinet warehouse!

Warren is a dump since the late 70s/early 80s. Im more surprised when i see an open restaurant there. Its a shame bk went downhill so badly, and so many franchise owners failed from that or their own mismanagement. Thanks for showing us memories of yesteryear!

Employees cared back then food was fresh and didn’t taste nasty. Back in the day, use to take my nieces and nephew here to play in the playground. Was usually clean and didn’t stink. Always clean on the outside. Politicians haven’t done anything to bring in business and the mayor let’s not even go there. Thanks for visiting 👍

We still have a lot of BK restaurants in the Chicagoland area. Ponderosa was one of my favorite places to eat when I was a kid. That place closed in my city long ago. There is a Thornton gas station there now.

We have a bk in my town that still in operation and has been that way for many years. The one think i love the most was the smell of the flame grilled beef patties coming out of the smoke stack on the roof. That smell is so glorious 🤤👍
Thanks for another adventure. See you on the next one lyd 😏👍

I would go in there and play too! I love this, I have the same kind of nostalgia for these old Burger Kings and Ponderosa etc. You hooked me when you went inside that massive movie theater!! That was so bad ass!! ❤

Im from Vienna so I used to be in Warren all the time & we went here alot. I moved states 8 years ago & had no idea they closed this. We used to go to the Ponderosa across the street quite often with our kids & they closed during covid, along with most buffet style restaurants. This BK was built I think in the 90s, it used to be up the road & they closed that one & built this one. The one up the road is just past Taco Bell, across from DiLucias. When my kids were little we used to go to that one all the time when they had the good toys like the Disney cups, sticker packs for like Lion King & other nice kid meal toys then. That BK is the older style & you can tell immediately it was a BK. I know several little businesses have been in & out of there over the years.

That building where Taco Bell is used to be Ames, we shopped there a little towards the end & I bought some good stuff in the last days of them closing. Looking at Taco Bell, on the left there used to be an Arthur Treacher's but they bulldozed it. That was closed before we even moved 8 years ago but I loved getting food there.

Going back up towards this BK, there before the light were the Nissan dealership is, that small building next to it, last I knew it was a car rental place, that was Long John Silvers. They are using the same building from when it was a restaurant. That big old store by BK used to be Finest grocery store. It has been closed down for years & years! We used to shop there briefly back in the day, late 90's-early 2000's. That whole area where Finest & BK is now, that used to be a huge trailer park. They kicked all those people out & built up these businesses, only for them all to now sit abandoned. Most of Elm Rd, which used to be extremely busy, is now close to a ghost town. Gabe's in Niles, used to be Finest too.

The DIY place next to BK, it is not something that is open all the time. I recall they have certain days when they have craft maid cabinets that they open to have a big sale, unless they have it open all the time now, I dont know. I just remember while coming in & out of BK, seeing the signs & barriers trying to keep the semi's from parking there all the time.
That Dollar Tree building used to be Kmart.

The Family Farm building with Perkins in the lot & across from Menards (used to be Walmart), back in my day used to be Stambaugh Thomson. My parents shopped there all the time & my oldest son one time when he was about 3, almost went to the bathroom in one of the display toilets but I caught him in time, lol.

It is so weird seeing the angle of you walking through the drive thru, it is a major flashback of me driving through there for food. I'll have a burger, onion rings & cherry slush float please!

I know alot of what used to be in buildings or locations in these areas. Another that sticks out to me is in Niles, where Aspen Dental & the Verizon store is, that used to be Denny's & we ate there all the time. My sister & I would go shopping & stop there for lunch, I always got the chef's salad or the BLT, so good!
Dicks sporting goods used to be Hills, my ultimate favorite place to shop! Quality clothes that did not fall apart like that sold in other stores like Kmart & Walmart.
Speaking of Kmart, up the road past the BK in Niles on Youngstown Warren Rd., last I knew it was Allorica (cell phone call center) but I am not sure if that is still it now, that was Kmart. They moved from there when they built the super center that was torn down a few years ago & Meijer was built. I have a photo of my toddler boys on a coin operated horse out from of there. They kept the building so that structure is still the original Kmart. In front of there in the lot as you come in, there is a loan place, that used to be Taco Bell. I hated the drive thru there. After Taco Bell, it was briefly a hot dog place, I cant remember the name, but their chili was so freaking greasy. We got chili cheese fries there & there was a literal inch of grease in the container of fries, so disgusting!

Good exploration as usual! Burger Kings are pulling out of SE Louisiana; seeing more and more of them closing up shop and other chains taking over locations. Thank you for some more camera/window ASMR! Good work lil buddy!

It’s so weird seeing a Burger King like this being abandoned, And it looks like it was renovated around 2016.

5:30 You were right, it was the vehicle clearance sign. It's amazing how clean this one is, I assume they must have a janitor or someone come in and maintain the place. Tables look clean enough to eat an $9.19 Whopper off of.

In Vegas we can get a double stack angus burger, or western, chili, with fries or another side at a sit down place for 7.99, RIP fake food places.

At 5:25, you were wondering what the pole was for. That was where the height clearance sign was for the drive-thru.

That location seems to be in excellent shape. They even had a lockbox on the front door, which means they are attempting to sell the building. Thank you for the great video. Do you ever go inside any of these places? I'm just curious.
