Wasn't EIP 1559 going to stabilize gas prices? Like weren't miners the one's being blamed for high gas fees to begin with? When I burn one down that's what happens to me. I mellow the fuck out.

This was not at 10$ for a long time, it’s been the same as it was for the past month around 6-7$usd

I also noticed around a 30% reduction in mining rewards. Combine that with a 300% increase in the fees to simply move my ETH from the exchange to my wallet and mining just became far less profitable for ETH. Granted still more profitable than other coins out there, but those others are starting to look more attractive.

with the rise in the price in ethereum back to 2700, profits were actually lower ($6.07-$6.25/100MH) 3 weeks ago than they are now post-eip

1 question: For small miners on Ethermine. Is it best to leave the payout gas price settings at 40gwei? I'm not entirely sure how this affecst the payouts. For example if its too low say 0.10gwei then there is a chance of problems with the transaction?

You didnt mention the gas limit. The gas limit went up from 15k to 30k. Thats 100% increase, so theoretically each block can include double the number of transactions, and also double the fees...
