Just made this, as I make many of your amazing recipes. And as usual, you did not disappoint. My husband and I loved it and after he swallowed his first bite, he said, "You've got to make this again."

You just saved my marriage. Thank you.

Try it with a splash of sesame oil, some sesame seeds, and a touch of white pepper. The flavors are accentuated just a wee bit more to make it irresistible. ☺️

I learned about Kewpie (technically QP) Mayonnaise when I was living in Japan and that's my primary mayo here in the states. If you want to take your mashed potatoes from really nice to sublime, add a tablespoon full of Kewpie to it along with your usual preferred ingredients and blend well. You'll thank me later...

If you’re Asian you don’t need to measure the water. You just know.

Three cloves of garlic really means ten cloves.

I wish I had a bit of her confidence. The way she wears white while cooking and tasting the food without spoiling her outfit is remarkable.😮

I tried this with dinner tonight. I was a skeptic, but now I'm a believer ... this was fantastic!

This brought me back to my childhood. I grew up in Hawaii, this and Filipino style fried rice is what takes me home. Thank you for this, I made this and sat in front of the TV with some cartoons and was instantly in my happy place.

Sometimes when I just too lazy to make full on Indonesian fried rice, I just tossed rice with butter and egg, put a bit salt and pepper to taste. Just for some quick dinner. This recipe is the fancier one.

You explain everything so nicely, you literally take away the anxiety of cooking. I actually hate cooking yet i have to do it everyday, but watching you cook makes me want to be calm and methodical while I am in kitchen 💙

Butter, garlic, rice and eggs... Basically everything I look for in a comfort food. Another easy and tasty-lookin dish from Marion.

Just a note, adding water to your rice depends on the rice variety. Some do needs an extra, others don't.

Well let me thank you first.
You don't know how much this helped me.
I had just recently moved to new city for a job.
And I had no prior cooking experience.
And finally after this tip, I made the perfect rice after 13th try. Every time I either burnt it or it still had water.
But you just made my day.
I feel like I accomplished something today

Question: Hi, Marion. My background is Jamaican. I've been eating rice all my life (quite happily). I tried your method of cooking rice tonight when I made Jamaican style rice and peas, and it was perfect. Like PER-FECT! Thank you! Do you know if the rice/water ratio changes when cooking brown rice or multigrain rice? Your channel is so great. Thank you for your recipes. 😁
