I bet you've heard of the Eureka MIGNON SPECIALITA', as one of the best bang for your buck home espresso grinders. Today, we take a look at this quiet, powerful, and capable grinder, hailing from Florence, Italy, where it was designed and built. We talk about grinder build quality, coffee grinds quality, retention, ease of use, and more. This is a long review in coming, after owing this delightful little 55mm burr grinder for more than 3 years, although I will try to hold it on the shorter side.

► Eureka MIGNON SPECIALITA':

By the way, to get similar performance at about half the price, try the Notte.
► Eureka MIGNON Notte/Manuale:

Or, try the Chronos, and add some espresso burrs. Just realize there's no silent technology, or display, albeit same motor and solid build.
► Eureka MIGNON Chronos (cheapest option):

► Eureka MIGNON 50mm espresso burrs:

The Silenzio is basically the Specialita, but without the display, and with 50mm burrs.

i have it for 5 years now. last year i upgraded the knob with a bigger dialer so now it is very easy to switch from espresso to brew coffee. This upgrade was a big step up! Try it

I bought this grinder around a week ago after a great deal of research, for which your videos were incredibly helpful. (both your thoughts generally on the machine and advice on setting the grind size initially). I couldn't be happier with it! it helps to produce incredibly complex and textured espresso with my Gaggia with a consistent grind quality. Many thanks!

I have the mignon zero which is basically this grinder minus the digital stuff. I love it. You can get wrapped up in the weekly grinder reviews but personally I'd rather just have a reliable workhorse from a company that's been around for a century.

I've had mine about four years now, and I love it.

100% agree with your review Tom. They are great grinders and we use ours every day. You're absolutely right about the adjustment wheel. Ours is used exclusively for filter. I designed my own bellows hopper to take a 75g charge and then a couple of pumps at the end and no retention. I strongly suspect this grinder will outlast me. 32K subscribers eh, the count is going up. Great to see.

I've had mine for about two years now. Love it! I'm using it with a Gaggiuino modified Gaggia Classic Pro.

I need to find and 3D print some bellows for it and try single dosing.

Had mine nearly 4 years before it decided to jam on some oily beans. Pro-tip: if you take it apart to clean the burrs, MARK THE BURRS FIRST so you put them back exactly the same. It was terrible and was looking at sending it for re-alignment or something, but rotating around and finding the original position fixed it. And really, the burrs were fine, it was the chute that was clogged. I could have saved a lot of trouble with a gentle poke from a chopstick (be careful not to bend the declumping things, but if you do, take it apart and bend them back)

I just bought it online and can't wait to try it. I'm looking for a review that convinces me that I didn't make the wrong choice. Thank you for your excellent review

3yrs is not that long. I have a Eureka Mignon from 2015 (made in 2014) which is all chrome and came with the tall hopper as standard from the store. Am using the same burrs and it grinds for two people (4 or 5 double shots) every day. I love how heavy it is and how the chrome work is so lustrous.

Nice review. May I know how much to set the fineness level on the wheel please: 1 - 1.5 - 2 - 2.5 or 3 ?

Hello Tom, thanks for the content! How do you find it for a single dose usage? Also, would you rather pick perfetto over specialita if you had to switch from espresso to pour over from time to time? Is 50 mm vs 55 mm burr diameter critical?

Excellent presentation as always. I’ve got mine for a year now and I love it. I also bought an OEM single dose hopper and silicone bellows which is a great step up. Keep on going Tom.

Mine arrived today! Will spend some time learning how to use it and tune it for filter coffee to start. Next project is to an espresso machine to match! I like the Lelit Grace you reviewed, will be considering that one! Thanks for all your content! It’s been very helpful!

I bought the Chronos with the espresso burrs and its awesome! I as well have a frustrating time dialing in the grind while switching beans. However its worth it with the quality of the grind once I get it right.

I have the Silenzio variant.. Upgraded from a Graef CM900. Honestly, it made everything better... no more issues with static, the grind adjustment is very precise and easy to use. And so quiet... so so quiet.. This was something that the first morning I used, felt simply amazing.

And the Silenzio has an analog timer, which I like, to be honest.
