One thing that I have been using for soldering small items is a small bowl of carborundum grains. Been soldering with it for many years and have grown to love this little bowl.

Thank you for this video! My head is spinning trying to build inventory in the last year to make my own li'l studio at home. It's been a challenge to prioritize my tool purchases, and I'm only a quarter of the way there. I DID just invest in a set of Fretz jeweler hammers that should be arriving next week, though! My very first set of my very own hammers! It's a big deal.

Such a beautiful go through of what to begin with! Must haves and some nice-to-haves! And so nicely presented Greg! May I express a wish for a new video? How does a beginners workplace look like? A bit more about a good workbench, how to place tools, parts, on the wall in drawers, etc around you for comfortable and effective work. Which chair to use... i only participated in a half day teaser course, watching lots bof videos now, will build a little workshop during x-mas holidays.
