Love this video! Watched a lot of “basics to start jewellery making” videos, but this is the first one that actually dives into what kind of files, tweezers, pliers, etc. that you actually need. So much better than everything else out there! Thank you so much!

I'm a current college student and was SO close to buying some basic silversmith starter kits. Little did I know how.much was involved! I definitely appreciated the video.

One thing that I have been using for soldering small items is a small bowl of carborundum grains. Been soldering with it for many years and have grown to love this little bowl.

Thank you for this video! My head is spinning trying to build inventory in the last year to make my own li'l studio at home. It's been a challenge to prioritize my tool purchases, and I'm only a quarter of the way there. I DID just invest in a set of Fretz jeweler hammers that should be arriving next week, though! My very first set of my very own hammers! It's a big deal.

Thank you so much! I have searched for ages for a good ventilation solution and have not found one. I really hope I will find one through your video. Fingers crossed. Best wishes from Germany.

HI, Greg. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your video very much. I have just started into jewellery making, and yesterday I finished my second silver ring. I find soldering the most challenging, as I keep melting things instead of soldering them. But hopefully I can get better at it. I just wanted to say hi and I will now go and see if you have a tutorial on soldering. Thanks again.

Such a beautiful go through of what to begin with! Must haves and some nice-to-haves! And so nicely presented Greg! May I express a wish for a new video? How does a beginners workplace look like? A bit more about a good workbench, how to place tools, parts, on the wall in drawers, etc around you for comfortable and effective work. Which chair to use... i only participated in a half day teaser course, watching lots bof videos now, will build a little workshop during x-mas holidays. Thanks for all videos and looking forward to get going.
