Never give up learning.  Mother taught me piano at 4 yrs. old, then learned violin at 11 yrs., became a 'fickle fiddler', jumping up and down from fiddle to piano, now at 76 yrs. Santa just brought me, Zez's 'Kitten on the Keys' (my old one turned into dust), so off I go again.  So, you never stop learning/relearning and growing.  Love that you are there for all piano lovers.  MERRY CHRISTMAS 2015

If theres one thing ive noticed about disney pianists (ie jonny and jarrod), theyre incredibly talented, technically perfect and extremely creative...its one thing to play like this, but another to make arrangements like this. This isnt even difficult from him, just look at those smug grins he gives to the camera every 30 seconds or so. I take my hat off to you sir

I think both are important. I'm a stronger chord player myself, but a lot of great ideas can come from studying sheet music transcriptions so I encourage all pianists to work on that too. Ultimately it all comes down to listening to the sound you want to create and practicing it a lot until you get there :)

Hey,
My best advice is to practice music that really excites and motivates you!
You have an advantage since you play other instruments already. Take a balanced approach in your practice to developing your technique, learning songs, and practicing chords (start with all major and minor chords in all keys). You'll start to understand inversions, and how chord progressions work.
Keep challenging yourself and learning new songs and you will steadily improve.
