Ma's Fresh Strawberry Cake

Natural strawberry cake recipes can be very hit or miss. While I love a strawberry cake made with a box mix, Jello, and other add-in ingredients, this fresh strawberry cake recipe is one of my favorites!
Ok maybe I'm biased since this cake represents so many good memories but I think you'll like it too!  It does such a great job of capturing natural strawberry flavor and scent.

Plus it's super moist and fluffy thanks to the sour cream and strawberry reduction added to the batter.

My son and I saw this video a few days ago and we knew we had to try it, so we made it for mother's day today.

If you're thinking about making this cake, just do it. My son said it's the best cake he's ever had. I think this cake will get me promoted from girlfriend to wife. I just served it and my family is already talking about when they want me to make it again.

Very very delicious cake! I had to substitute the all purpose flour with wheat flour per doctor's orders and it was still delicious. My family can eat whatever they want and gobbled down my wheat strawberry cake😢.... we all love it. We appreciate you!

I love your recipes! I always make grandma Barbs carrot cake. I love how you see the importance of TEXTURE, not only flavor. In my opinion texture is as important as flavor. Always perfectly tender cakes 👌🏼

This looks delicious and I can just imagine how it smells. My one note is that the pinch of salt in the frosting doesn't reduce the sweetness, it intensifies it. Beyond that, this looks like a great recipe.
