I had one of these. the 10 watt mode is class A and is totally magical. In a band rehearsal I set it up at 45w and it was crushing and SOLID AF. I was so impressed with it. Its not perfect but I still have a sweet spot for it.

What exactly do you get out of a 2c+ reissue that you won't get out of a V fine tuning gain stage relations (you don't get that out of a jp2c). You get a much more clear modern voicing out of a V

If my hunch is right it's like the recto Vs slo or 5150, the PRESENCE control is linear on a mark series, so where you might set it to 6-7 on a 5150 that point would be like 3-5 on a mark or recto, Use the presence as a finishing touch and start with it near zero

And the extreme mode is like the recto in I think it's the modern red mode? As well as some of their Poweramps no negative feedback and a LPF, so with the rectifier you control that with a boost and in the mark V you control with pre eq

Also don't be afraid to dip the mids before the bass and use graphic to fine tune, the graphic can give the impression of more gain!

My only complaint was when they came out was the price! They weren’t cheap! You’re totally right, people don’t know how to dial it in! Oh btw Mesa/Boogie Hollywood was we’re I tried the Mk3 and MkIV when they came out as well as getting to play Tom Anderson guitars! It was an amazing store!

I played your amp! They didn't have it out on the floor yet. I went into try it out. It was gone within a day or two. They need to fix their toilet handle. Wasn't me who broke it.
