DrawPlus X5/X6 - Creating a Design from a Sketch

Hi Richardo. The scanned sketch was placed on a layer of its own (using the Layers tab) so as not to get in the way of the drawn lines. Then when you're done with it, you can hide or delete the sketch layer. HTH, Dale @ Serif.

Hi Madison, the drawing started as a hand-made sketch that was scanned in to DrawPlus and then manually traced to create outlines. It's also possible to AutoTrace scanned artwork, or draw from scratch in DrawPlus. HTH, Dale @ Serif.

If you want to try out this software then you can get the starter edition from serif website for free. I've been playing around with it this morning and I love it. I wish I found this years ago, I've been doing it all freehand in photo plus for years. Ordering the full version of x5 today.

if you use the pen tool you can right click to stop it and then carry on straight away without having to reselect.

I am planning on uploading my sketches on diviantart, but I can seem to merge my layers and saving them as jpg files...
How do I merge layers and save the file as jpg?

can the tracing be used in a different color? like say I want to do the my little pony art where they don't have black outlines can I trace with a different color?
