I'm a 42 year old American, I never learned German, but when I first heard this song in English I told everyone I knew about it, then someone said I should listen to the German version, and I did, and there is something special about it; the tones in the voice; the passion. I know what people mean when they say the German version is better, even though I would have never understood it without the lyrics of the English/American version.
That said, please, if you haven't already, do a 2020 version of this in German for all those people who fell in love with the German version. If anyone disliked this because it's English and not German, that's just silly, you could sing this in Chinese and it'd deserve a billion likes. The life of Earth has put all of it's stock in Humanity to seed it on new worlds. Every human being on Earth should recognize the passion in this message. The Tug of War between the mind and the heart, get out there and get life's business done throughout the universe and come home at the end of it all to be enveloped by the warm embrace of the mother that has been incubating us for billions of years.
It says so much about us, as men and women, as humanity, as life, as the Earth, and as the origin of the consciousness of the entire Universe. The pull grows stronger, with everything we learn, about all the islands out there, eager, to receive the seeds of life and birth their own unique children.
