When I went to School at Hinckley they never told up anything about the battles of Leicester. This is a wonderful series.

Thanks again Jim, I'm ready for the final 1 now, I never realised what an interesting and complex history my hometown had. You live and learn! Best wishes Yvonne 👋

This just gets better and better. I feel like we are under siege now but it doesn't compare to the battles then. Looking forward to the next instalment. Thanks James

Still can't believe I didn't know any of this! Thanks for laying it out so clearly and geographically.

Congratulations Jim on another great episode, on a chapter of our history it seems that few people of Leicester actually know about, it is a piece of our history that people should be made aware of, not in a warmongering sense but for the pride we should have in our civilian population for standing firm against overwhelming odds.
As far as I'm aware the only notification of this is a small information board in jubilee Square, I was also surprised that when I brought this time up when visiting the Guildhall the staff seemed somewhat surprised even though there is a small segment of the introduction video ( showing in the entrance) that mentions what happens

Hi Jim, really enjoyed your short histories of Leicester. You did a piece on the Glen Parva Lady. I was wondering if you had any knowledge of the history of the Eyres Monsell estate itself. I believe it was a compulsory purchase from the Monsell family but there is very little material on the Web about its origins and the records office is not an option at the moment. So I thought I would reach out on the off chance you knew anything. Thanks

Really interesting. I had never heard of St Sundays Bridge. Do you know why it got that name?
