Gonna nerd out about the crowd singing: if you’ve ever wondered how a stadium of random strangers who’ve never sang together before could sound half decent, it’s called critical mass. Basically, strength in numbers. Not everyone knows how to sing in tune, or is trained. But once you get over a certain number of people singing together, the sound averages out, so the stronger singers end up ‘cancelling’ out the weaker ones, and the weaker ones add to the volume. That’s why audiences singing back always sound decent.

I can’t imagine how powerful it feels to hear such a large group of people sing your song back to you.
