So in a rather long (7+ years) D&D campaign I was in I played a Druid and a bit early in the campaign we encountered a young green dragon who was supposed to be a minor boss-like monster that setup the eventual big bad. But thanks to some lucky rolls my Druid convinced the green dragon to stop terrorizing the local villages and instead go setup her lair in my forest, as part of a mutual defense pact where my Druid (who just so happened to have been sent out into the world by his forest's group of dryads to find seeds for more plants to expand the variety of our forest) and the dryads he worked with would protect the green dragon and her future eggs/young in exchange for her protecting the forest along with us, AND using our magic to make the green dragon appear like a human whenever she wanted, allowing her to have as much fun as she wants playing politics in the local towns (which my druid and the dryads he worked with simply did not care about). Over the years the green dragon and my eventual archdruid fell in love and had several green dragon wyrmling foster children and half-dragon babies together. The best part was riding a green dragon into battle and dropping treants on her political rivals. Ah good times.

RANDOM STORY TIME

Dragon: Adventurer, why do you not believe my tales and accept my deals, do they not sound beneficial to us both?

Adventurer: I do not believe you for thine scales are green and you therefore speak naught but lies, this I have been told.

Dragon: You do not believe me for my green coloration? Is that so?

Adventurer: Tis' so indeed. Green wyrms always speak in tounges, that I know.

Dragon : All green dragons always speak lies? That's racist.

Adventurer: Wh-what? No it's like a dragon thin

Dragon (interrupts adventurer): Wooow, really? Green dragons always lie eh? And what else, black dragons are always evil?

Adventurer: Well yeah I me

What if a green dragon made a deal with a town?

If the townsfolk worshipped the dragon like a deity (sending sacrifices in the shape of cattle and even festivities where the dragon is the guest of honor), the dragon would gift them with a plentiful harvest, scaring away pests and predators that may harm their livestock.

Sounds like something a dragon would do, it ensures it's survival and now has some followers.

I've made a slave of a green dragon lure my adventures to an 'abandon' church sunk into the ground; with the promise of treasure (something he couldn't do alone). The damn wizard picked up on it being a lair somehow and was the cook through out the campaign. Once they set on the quest, he wrote on a piece of paper (irl) Beginning of every session. Didn't tip it off to any others (so not to alert my suspicion, either) never said what he wrote.

They wandered through the place, and when they were in the deepest part of the dungeon and had loot set in their eyes, The chamber closed behind them and a gas descended!

I asked for saves, but the wizard held up a hand, stopping everyone as they were reaching for their dice. We both smiled at each other, as I asked why.

"There is no need to save from the poison, When we are all immune. I've fed you all a multitude of poisons and antidotes during each of our meals. Thats what these notes are for." And he showed us all the notes. We were all stupefied. They all would have died from that poison gas, if not for the wizard. Most still died from the fight, but it would have been so much worse if I could have used the damn breath weapon. Fuc-|(-in wizards. Makes me smile every time when I think about it too.
[BTW: this is the shortened version of the story.]

*SMALL SPOILERS*
I mean... There WAS a green dragon in Chult. It's name was Needle, and her grave is a place on the map in Tomb Of Anihilation (Needle's Bones).

I like how they care so much about their children, so that they can make sure to teach them to be completely assholes XD
Another great video!

Ah, my favorite dragon!
I like to follow this mentality with my Green Dragons: By the time you see the dragon, half a dozen plots to end your life will already be in motion. If you end up fighting the dragon directly... you at least can die knowing those plots failed. For a Green Dragon will never bloody their claws directly, it leads to rumors that said dragon lacks the cunning and wit to trick you into destroying yourselves.

8:30 - "Tundra Forest" - you mean Taiga Forest? Tundra is a tree-less, cold land (think steppe, but colder).

In my current game I'm having a green dragon who has an amulet that allows it to polymorph into human form be the ruler of one of the major nations. The dragon has ruled for about a thousand years, just every so often changing the appearance of its polymorphed form to avoid suspicion. Its "hoard" is the people it keeps as servants in its castle as well as its treasury. I'm excited for when the party finally meets with this king and finds out his secret

Once you're done with the dragon series how about the rulers of the Nine Hells? The vid you did about Asmodeus was amazing. I never would have known that there was that much lore about DnD let alone about specific characters.

Why is there something weirdly adorable about the image of a downright evil dragon sweetly talking to it’s baby about how to become a villain?

Green dragons honestly seem like most interesting out of all the chromatic dragons based on there descriptions. Characters that relies on cunning and deceit it honestly way more interesting to me than one that relies on brute force.
