So anxious to see the jacket for your son. It’s great when the boys in your family ask you to sew something for them. Hope he will model it for us.😊

I made the Sirocco jumpsuit twice—one was the shorts version in a knit jersey by Robert Kaufman titled Wisteria. The other one I made in a black knit jersey and I absolutely love them both! On the waistband of the Sirocco, (which I learned from watching Sew Sew Live, I cut two waistbands for front and back) and in doing so, the waistband is finished on the inside and out. Plus it makes the waistband more substantial. I am 5’ 6” tall and had to lengthen the bodice by 3/4”. Cannot wait to see your makes!

I remember when I first started sewing, I would buy the pattern, the fabric and sew it up. I’m not sure when it all changed—buying so much ahead of time. Pattern sales? Stashes are ridiculous. (I’m talking about mine.)

I grabbed some of that ponte at JoAnn on Black Friday too. It’s a very thick, firm, knit so you almost have to treat it like a woven (I learned this the hard way). I use it to make dress pants with elastic waists for work (Simplicity 9376 view A with the crease seam - down a size bc, even though it’s a firm knit, it’s still a knit. The flat front with an elastic back is just like ready to wear - chef’s kiss. That pattern is well on it’s way to being a TNT for me.) The pants are so versatile and they look REALLY expensive and stylish. I reach for them all the time - which is why I bought more of that fabric on Black Friday.

For your daughter, I would use the cashmere Harrison shirt pattern and just change out the sleeve. I put a different sleeve on that pattern once and it worked out very well. You’re a good mama to sew for your kiddos. Thank you for all the amazing videos you do.

I forgot to mention in my earlier comment that I heard that Pattern Emporium typically has a Boxing Day sale. So, I'm waiting til then to pick up some patterns from them.

Great plans. Again, you bought the same fabrics I bought a couple of weeks ago - so funny. Made the Sirocco three times about 2 years ago in a softer knit, in a more stable cotton jersey and a French terry. I wouldn’t do it again in a soft cotton jersey (I have the same art gallery jersey as you showed - wouldn’t make a sirocco with that - I find it to soft for it).

I love that Style Maker knit! It’s very pretty.
And the Opium coat. I never noticed that before.
Big sleeve shirt pattern: Liberty Fabrics LIB201. I got it on Minerva, I had to wait for it, it had sold out.
It has 5 sleeve versions. It’s gorgeous.

Great haul Whitney. I did some shopping myself and got some great scores. For your daughter, check out Liesl and CO’s new Geneva V-neck. It’s cute. No collar but adorable statement sleeve. 30% off today only at Fabric Mart. Love her patterns and drafting. I would love to see a video pants patterns for bodies like yours and mine where there’s not such a great difference in waist to hip. Merry Christmas to you and yours! ❤️🎄🌵🇺🇸

Oh, so many pretty fabrics! How about the Thea boho shirt from Liberty? (Although it has come to my attention that it's just an old McCalls pattern with the Liberty brand on it.. ) Great pattern, though.

I got some art gallery fabric from style makers too. That jersey is beautiful !!!! I looked at it in a canvas fabric. Can’t wait to see your jumpsuit.

Love that terra cotta fabric. I keep looking at Deer and Doe but don’t really find anything that speaks to me. Wow love that green and yellow floral.

I just love the Art Gallery cotton jersey, as well as the Style maker fabric. Gorgeous. I really like all your fabrics and patterns. I always figure you can’t have enough black ponte for bottoms. Black on top makes people thing I need to be in the morgue but it sure is versatile for bottoms.

Liberty of London has a pattern called the Boho Shirt. It has big statement sleeves and is buttoned

Great video, always enjoy seeing your plans! Would love to see a video on your stash. It would be really interesting to see how you think about your stash and how it plays into your planning. Thank you for all you do!

Hi Whitney:

When you said that about the statement sleeve I immediately thought of Vogue1704-the sleeves could be lengthened-I think it has a really cool vibe!
Also other Vogue patterns to consider: 1847, 9243, 9285.
I didn't check to see if they are all for wovens or not-I know the 1704 is, as I have that one, myself!!

Love the fabric and that your son is appreciating your genius!! :+)

You looked fabulous as always!

Love all your upcoming projects! My Stylemaker order is coming today🤞. I have not been disappointed by any purchase I’ve made from them. Excited about the LN Friday pattern. I have two I’m looking for updates for (FBA) before I delve into them. Tessa Dress and Terra Tunic. Hoping for one of those🤞. It is so nice your kids want you to sew for them❤️

I'm glad to hear your comments about Cashmerette. I was also looking at their sale and decided against purchasing until they have lower sizing. I've got the narrow shoulders and big bust and am slightly small for their regular line, so eventually I'm sure their shaping will be spot on for me.

IAM patterns just released the Cleo shirt and it might be what your daughter is looking for. It’s so dreamy!
