2007 Missouri and Kansas were #1 and #2… that was freakin awesome !!

I loved it when it mattered who was playing in the Rose, Orange, Sugar, Cotton and later the Fiesta Bowls. You couldn't wait for New Year's Day. Now I barely remember who played in which one a year later and don't really care. 2007? Heck, give me 1987.

I’m old school. CFB will never be the same!

2007 in a heartbeat. Or better yet, the mid-1990s. No BCS, no playoff, bowl games really mattered, conferences made geographic sense, no NIL or transfer portal. And great teams. The Orange Bowl where Nebraska broke through and rallied from 17-9 down in the 4th to beat Miami 24-17 is still one of my all-time favorite games. Miami-FSU had some epics, too. Wide Right I and II, followed by FSU breaking through and beating Miami 28-10 in a game that was much more competitive than the final score, followed by FSU losing 31-24 to ND but winning the natty over ND because ND took one loss, a 41-39 loss to Boston College.

2007. But I would go back to 97 or earlier. Back when Big East was still a conference. Regional rivalries decided conference championships. Now rivalries are determined by TV revenue and what ESPN wants.

100% agree the BCS era was the best era of college football. College football has been tarnished with the addition of NIL the CFP and conference realignments. Traditional rivalries are gone and it makes zero sense from a geographical standpoint.

2000-2009 was a great era of College Football. I wish it stayed the way it was then.

2007 but with the playoffs. More teams deserve a chance to win.

Remember the hits in 07… I don’t think the helmet to helmet rule was in effect. But they were cracking down on excessive celebrations

2007 all day. The players used to be able to hit each other hard without it being a negative.

I liked the regionality aspect. I remember back in 2012 when a&m and Mizzou went to the sec and folks were making a big deal about how Mizzou wasn't in the southeast. Now we got acc teams on the Pacific ocean😂

The old BCS system was WAY better than the playoffs. The desperation to have an official National Champion has harmed virtually every other aspect of the postseason

When a computer pick the teams. The games were more competitive. And the computer didn't care about how people felt .

2007 was way better than it is now. BCS era was better than playoff era. No opt outs no NIL or transfer portal to deal with

I’d take 07 but with a playoff. My two teams are part of the fortunate ones today but expansion has just caused so much hurt for folks. The SEC didn’t need Texas OU and A&M. The PAC was fine as it was. What the heck does Oregon and Wash have to do with Rutgers 😂

it sucks for my generation because we will have to play in 2027

That conference championship weekend of ‘07!!! Most drama ever in CFB in 24 hours

Man I miss the conferences being geographically aligned. Loved the different styles of play, & the overall pride of playing for the universities.
