I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (September 29), immediately after our worship service, we processed outside and dedicated a new outdoor cross given in memory of one of our members who joined the Church Triumphant in August of last year (2018). This Scripture was read at the dedication.

Christ didn’t deny himself Joy.

It was the joy that he endured the cross what joy? The joy of knowing the good that will come out of him being on that cross. He knew that many ppl will come to know the father by that cross.
