the FAA: "hey spirit, how many times can you merge?"
Spirit: YES

One thing I've noticed with US domestic flights in general - they're really all more expensive than flights within Europe can be. It doesn't matter who you fly with, good luck trying to find a flight for less than $200 when you add it all up.

I wish that United and Continental were still separate airlines to this day.

Once one adds on any extras to a spirit airlines flight, such as a checked bag, or maybe an emergency exit row seat that a human being taller than 5 foot five can fit in, it really is no cheaper than JetBlue. I’m not understanding why people don’t get this. Plus, JetBlue offers a scaled back option, that is just about the same price as a bare bones Spirit flight as well.

I'm pretty interested to see how the merger goes, but I hope to see JetBlue the surviving product, and that some of the Spirit hubs will be inherited by JetBlue like Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston as possible future JetBlue hubs similar to when American introduced Phoenix and Charlotte inherited from US Airways during the merger.

going on two years since it was announced korean was buying asiana and nobody hardly talks about it. virgin america ceased operations just over two years after alaska said they would be buying em, so clearly takes some time

I hope this merger does NOT go through. JetBlue is a fantastic airline;but buying a garbage airline like Spirit may hurt JetBlue in the coming years and long run. Sometimes as part of corporate mergers, there are certain stipulations, I.e. absorbing some of Spirit’s inept and toxic leadership.

Many years away for 2024? By my math 15 months away minimun or 26 months max does not equal many years. I love the hyperbole in all of these vids. 🤣

It raises significant anti-competitive questions, especially with both airlines having Fort Lauderdale (FLL) hubs.

Hypothetically, If the merger gets blocked, do you think Frontier could put in another offer?

I'm NOT too sure on this merger, because they have a future court date between American Airlines and JetBlue Northeast Alliance agreement which I feel the only way this will go through is to end the partnership of the two Airlines. We'll have to see since 2024 is not too far away.

Hope it happens as JetBlue have a better image and personally product

The DOJ ride MAY be easier now than previously due to a struggling industry and economy. We shall see! Thank you for your coverage as always.

Good luck to JetBlue’s acquisition of Spirit Airlines being approved by the Department of Justice while they are also suing both JetBlue and American Airlines over their Northeast Alliance joint venture 😂

Hope it helps JetBlue get their act together. Love to get the money back that I've lost on their stock.

I don’t think the merger will be approved and Spirit will go running back to its true love Frontier with a pocket full of breakup money.

Considering that JetBlue's primary market lies within the NE U.S., it would be good for JetBlue's business, but probably negative for competition and consumers. Route congestion is already a problem, plus with a LCC out of the picture, consumers will be footing higher prices or be forced to drive or rely on Amtrak. And we all know how Amtrak is...

Yeah I think her JetBlue and spirit should merge because interesting to see the two carriers come together and share aircraft and passengers between the two carriers very interesting and I will be watching this very closely
