What a lovely, sincere message from this great man to another. I was a bit sad yesterday (19 Nov) remembering it was JD's birthday, & also the day he was buried. At this early hour it seems this message is "Angel sent." I miss you both so much, JD & George. Love you always. 🎶❤️🎶

Just saw this, had no idea it Brings a tear to the eye. Their banter was hilarious and made for great entertainment, but this provides a different and most special insight into just how close and loving they were towards each other. RIL George Younce and JD Sumner.

Charlie Waller used to do his own "This Is Your Life" program at the National Quartet Convention, and that year they were honoring George Younce. JD Sumner wasn't able to attend the event, so he recorded this tribute on video. He and George Younce had a running "feud" in which they always said mean things about each other, and I have to wonder if some people thought they genuinely disliked each other. In real life, they were close friends for over forty years.

Both men had issues. George was an alcoholic and JD was a heavy smoker but they loved each other as friends and had a friendship that lasted until JD died
