5th Grade Math 7.1, Find a Fractional Part of a Group

Показать описание
We can find a fractional part of a group by using the denominator to find how many equal groups to make from the whole number. Then we can use the numerator to find how many equal groups to count. We can count the number of items in those groups that we circled. Because fractions describe equal parts, it's important that we divide our counters into groups that have the same number. The groups must be equal-sized. We show how equivalent fractions of a group will represent the same amount. We find which multiplication problem matches the model given. We solve two word problems that involve finding a fractional part of a group.
