No, these were arthroscopic procedures. They're very light procedures that can hardly be called 'surgeries' at all, honestly. I've had one on my left knee before because I was an athlete when I was younger. You can literally walk out the hospital afterwards, and you feel better compared to when you came in. Sounds like he just had some loose cartilage that had built up that needed cleaning.

Really, the most uncomfortable part of it all isn't the scoping procedure itself, but the physical therapy & constant icing you have to do for the next few weeks to reduce the swelling

The surgery he had (he even says it in the car - 'we cleaned it up a bit...'), which would imply he had knee arthroscopy, I'm 99% sure. It's a procedure where ligaments start to break away, fall apart, from your actual knee and it hurts, it travels around in your knee and surgery is pretty non invasive, they take out the floating, unneeded tissues through a small hole and 'vacuum' it up :D

sounds like he had some scar tissue removed, its really not invasive if they do it like a pcnl kidney surgery. couple weeks is plenty of time
