Review: Nomads Vintage Leather Notebook Journal - A Midori Alternative?

Looking for a less expensive alternative to the Midori Traveler's Notebook? Stuff&Things reviews the Vintage Leather Notebook Journal by Nomads.

*UPDATE* 10/31/16 - We were contacted by Evan who represents Wanderings, the seller of the other notebook shown on Amazon which looks identical. He claims that Nomads is using edited versions of their copyrighted product photography to sell their notebook. We just wanted to bring that to your attention. It DOES seem very likely though that the two journals are sourced from the same manufacturer.

I honestly think that you should consider doing more pen and notebook reviews.

Good review.
But I have to say two things.
At first, the pen didnt really blood through the paper badly, if you do spots with the fountain pen like this it also will bleed in midory papers. I think you can also write on both sides of this paper without big bleeding problems, if I compare the test you did also on the midory review.
The second thing ist the leatherpiece on the elastic. For me you maybe didnt get the pint of it. I would give this a big plus compared to midory. If you have much inlets and stuff in there, the elastic from the midory will damage the inlets and crincle them, while the extra piece of leather on the elastic here should be able to prevent this problem.

Very good review. Seems like a good alternative for someone who absolutely cannot afford a Midori. But if money's not an issue then the higher cost of the Midori is well worth it for the superior quality you get. Those metal clips at the bottom of the Nomads notebook would drive me nuts. Thanks for the review, it's always interesting to see what else is out there.

Everyone seems to want to make cheaper versions of the Midori. But does anyone make a version that can match Midori's quality? I have a Midori and I love the quality, but there are a few design decisions that bother me that seem to be fixed on some of these more affordable versions, but I just can't give up the high quality of the actual Midori.

I still use my ZLYC which you reviewed ages ago and I find this very good, I think these things are much of a muchness really but the ZLYC is an excellent alternative to midori, this one looks ok also Thanks Brad

Great review as always! Quick question though, as I cannot afford a "real" Midori, I am trying to decide what alternative to get. Which would you say has the best quality, Nomads or ZYLC?

Very good review...yet, for the really minute price difference, having a better leather enclosure would be more important to me!

Thanks for the review. I just bought a September leather from Amazon. I didn't want too spend to much. And it's a little bigger than passport so it is a bit more flexible with inserts. I did a video on my channel. Warning, a very long drawn out video.

I always enjoy your reviews. Thanks for this one Brad. I agree with others who say you should do more pen and paper reviews.

Excellent comparison. I picked up a Nomad last week, mine was $25.99 on Amazon, so I am guessing the price fluctuates some. I like that it has three blank books, I love the leather piece on the outside, it holds my Kaweco Sport quite nicely. I haven't had problems with bleed through with the Kaweco, but that could just be the way I write. I needed something that would fit in my backpack for the insane amount of travel I am doing this year and the price point was the kicker for me. I likely will like the Midori inserts better once I run through all three books though.

I actually purchased the Wanderings version awhile back specifically because of the compass and the good reviews haha. It's a fantastic notebook

Great review and great videos overall. What ink did you have in your pen in this review?

Lots of Audio Pop and hitch in this review Bradley (in the Section where you are showing us the Amazon Pages) might be a worthwhile suggestion to an entry level TN Person who doesn't want to go ham on a Midori.
