Plants and animals are mostly composed of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen. These chemicals – and how they are put together – underlie everything around us. That’s why chemistry is such a valuable tool for agricultural, environmental and food scientists. When growing plants and animals, you’re working with chemistry and chemical bonds.

A perfect little video to show to people,
especially those saying ' if you're taking all those chemicals' ....' I don't have any chemicals in the house ' ..etc

This is the perfect video to show people who say they are "chemical-free" or "if you can’t pronounce it, you shouldn’t eat it." I understand when they say "chemical" they really mean *harsh* or *toxic* chemicals, still, I think more people need to be educated about what chemicals are. Ask an average person what they think of cyanocobalamin, ergocalciferol, & menatetrenone and chances are there will be some people who think those are some “scary-sounding” chemicals that shouldn't be anywhere near you. However cyanocobalamin, ergocalciferol, & menatetrenone are just the scientific names for Vitamin B12, D2 & K2 respectively. Not all chemicals are bad (some, like carbon, are essential for life) and chemistry is not evil. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a chemical, vinegar (acetic acid) is a chemical & water (dihydrogen monoxide) is a chemical. Docosahexaenoic acid sounds scary too, but it’s an omega-3 fatty acid found in salmon and other fatty fish. “Natural” doesn’t automatically mean good for you either; arsenic & cyanide are natural.

Ở đất nước tôi, những người có kiến thức hoá học tồi tệ lại là những người đi tiên phong trong việc tuyên truyền về hoá chất, và họ luôn tuyên truyền rằng hoá chất đồng nghĩa với độc hại, nhưng lượng người nghe theo họ lại rất đông đảo và ngày càng tăng dần, đặc biệt là những người làm nông nghiệp hữu cơ và nông nghiệp thuận tự nhiên. Tôi đã từng cố gắng khuyên một số người trong bọn họ nên tìm hiểu thêm về thứ được gọi là “hoá chất”, nhưng không có tác dụng, không chỉ vậy họ còn dễ dàng cho rằng tôi hoặc bất kỳ ai nói sự thật về hoá chất là những kẻ đang làm việc cho một tập đoàn hay công ty hoá chất nào đó 😂.

Maybe a exhaust-spewing tractor, idling on an empty field wasn't the best illustration to go with when talking about fertilizers. The people that need to watch this video are looking through the lens of chemicals being scary.
