Big Idea: God does unexpected things.

Bible Story: God’s Promise to David (2 Samuel 7:1-14a)

Question of the Day: “What would you do if you won the lottery?”

Discussion Questions:
1. What did David want to do for God? (David wanted to build a home for God--the Temple)
2. What was God’s plan instead? (God said David wouldn’t be the one to build His house, David’s son would build the temple.)
3. What did God promise David? (God also promised to make David's family the leaders of Israel forever, all the way through David's children's children's children and so on!)
4. Has God ever done something unexpected in your life?
