There are currently as of 2023, 23 chimps in the chimp troop at Chester Zoo consisting of 8 Males and 15 Females The oldest is Boris at 56 years old Born 1966 and the youngest is Jeff at 1 Month old Born December 2022

Most of the chimps at Chester Zoo, have appeared in the popular nature documentary series, shown on TV called The Secret Life Of The Zoo.
This animal documentary series was first aired on TV in 2016 and has run for 10 seasons from 2016 - 2021

I just watched an entire documentary and this is how the momma stretches the baby's arms and legs to help prepare their muscles for walking and climbing. They are so smart!

She is showing him off AND teaching him. You have to remember that these animals don't normally live in zoos. They live in trees and on dense ground that they have to learn to navigate from a young age. She's a great momma!! 🥰🥰🥰

This is their initiations to their ways of moving around in their natural habitat which is in the trees hopping from branches to branches. So by dangling the baby chimp the mother is strengthening it's ligaments, muscles joints as well as eliminating vertigo.
