"I compared some very cheap and "trashy" gear with my professional guitar setup. Did you know the Alesis Guitar FX pedal? It's super affordable and has some great reverse reverb."

This time tomorrow Alesis Guitar FX prices will be at an all time high.

They sounded great together in mix. You should definitely use that setup again

Both sound great, but I far prefer the lo-fi "trash" version. The lo-fi version sounded more dreamy and haunting.

Trash sounds real with character, and the pro sounds generic, together: they work...

I’m not being sarcastic. Nice video.

This was a very cool experiment! I liked the chords you used. I think my favorite sound in the end was both combined, it sounded super thick!

I've wanted to get into shoegaze playing for ages but the gear required i.e jazzmaster/jag, reverse reverb etc is so expensive. Good to know there are some cheaper options out there. Nice video.

I've done something like this before. I used one of those guitar headphone amps but used an FM transmitter you would use for a phone/MP3 player to use in your car. Then I could play guitar through my old radios or boomboxes. I don't think it was very good for the speakers though, but it was really fun.

Both setups are lovely in a way, thanks for your effort and quality content!

That mix of the two sounded mind blowing! I instantly got the image of the pale saints blue flower soooo cool!!! And those rare devices speaking of your radio have so much attitude I used to feel guilty when I plugged my guitar on my radio but the same as you I could find some unique sounds!
And by the way your hair looks cool!

On the radio, the mic diaphragm is about half the surface of the speaker whereas on the Fender you had the mic pointed right at the centre of the cone which is _THE_WORST_ sound!!! I'm not surprised the cheapie gear sounded way better - good video, one up for the little guy! :o)

That's some burzum recording technique

Stuff like this gives me hope lol I’m cheap and I recently discovered this dreamy, wonderful guitar style. My multi effects unit also has a sitar simulator which would sound fire over the reverse reverb and vibrato

The "Trash" setup sounds killer! I kinda prefer it to the more "Pro" setup (at least on it's own), got a lot of time for the cheap stuff.

But both mixed together is incredible. It's proof that there's always room for cheaper equipment in your setup regardless of how fancy your rig could become.

Any good setting suggestions for that patch on the GuitarFX? I've been having a play, and was using Route 3 to run the reverse before the distortion. Would love to see the patch settings you used if possible?
