The Kingston Trio - San Miguel (1959)

Показать описание
This is a NEW Kingston Trio video I have done, my first in over 4 1/2 years, and the first one from their very best album, Here We Go Again! (1959), in well over 11 years. As it turns out, "San Miguel" was the flip side of the hit single "A Worried Man" which charted at #20 on Billboard in 1960. "San Miguel" was written by Jane Bowers who contributed other material to the Kingston Trio during the David Guard years. Despite the song's brevity there is much heartfelt thought, feelings, and action packed into this romantic ballad, possibly one of the best the Trio ever recorded. The melody itself should go on forever, so beautiful and stirring it is, and perhaps in some musical dimension or time bubble, it still does. The vocal and guitar style foreshadows some of the forms of folk music that would later be performed by the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot, and Leonard Cohen.
