Don’t let comments get you down Chris. Your work is appreciated, especially by those of us who wish to be informed but don’t have the language skills to bridge the gap. I find your insights very helpful. Keep it up!

The Japan Sumo Association...what a bunch of hypocrites.

Keep up the good work, Chris. I enjoy your commentary on what goes on in the sumo world.

Because the coach isn't Hakuho it really doesn't matter to them.

"Can't have a double standard, can we?" Double standard is the JSA's middle name.

And yes, thanks for telling the stories to the larger world, Chris. YOu are so right - it is a complicated system, and you are doing a champion job of investigating and reporting. Not an easy job.

I definitely appreciate you reporting the news and things that happen outside of the dohyō. It’s like an American fraternity. Hazing is encouraged. They only report on it when someone gets hurt.

Double standard? probably Triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple? So if it is not Miyagino, all is well

Don't let the few bother you. We appreciate every video and even look forward to them!! Keep up the great work! Without your translations, I wouldn't know half the stuff I do about the amazing Sumo culture. Hopefully, the Sumo elders will start acting responsible and honorable in ALL cases and remove deliberate harm to younger wrestlers. I like to cheer for Honorable Good Hearted wrestlers who train hard, not cruel. God Bless

I live in California, where Sumo isn’t even mentioned on the Sports media. I fell in love with Sumo, during the Covid pandemic lockdown. I watched it now every other month, but it is on the NKI Japanese channel on PBS. I only get to watch the main Event matches. I would love to watch a Grand Sumo Tournament, from start to finish. Your podcast in a sense is my only lifeline, to get the skinny, on all Sumo news, inside and outside the ring. I watch a few others, but you’re the BEST Chris! May God bless everyone 🇮🇱✝️🇺🇸!

You keep doing you Chris. You are appreciated bringing all the news to other parts of the world who are not directly involved.

I for one support you Chris, you are right. You bring the news to us, for free I may add, as it is and if you add your opinion I feel that it is mostly fair to which I often agree with. Please ignore the negative comments and be confident that more of us enjoy your content than don't, so you are doing it right.

Did I understand that right!?
Onosato joined his stable and was basically told to be part of hazing a junior sumotori!?
With a the added peer pressure of complying with his elders for himself added...

And whether or not the former Kisenosato felt the need to notify the JSA isn't totally clear, but seems to be unlikely.
