Vegan Spicy Calamari & Shrimp | Recipes Vegan
Показать описание
In this video we are making vegan spicy calamari & shrimp! This is one of the most delicious vegan seafood recipes, and we will be using leeks to make the vegan version of calamari! I know many people are using oyster mushrooms and heart of palms, but I wanted to do something different! So, here you go!
MY MUSIC ALBUM
Fried calamari rings:
Ingredients:
1 Cup white organic unbleached flour
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 1/4 Cups cold soda water
1 -2 seaweed shredded nori sheets
big bag of bread crumbs
4 leeks
Wash and slice the leeks in thick slices or medallions and remove the inner rings from each medallion creating many “calamari” rings. Set aside and now let us make the batter for frying.
How to make the batter:
To a bowl place the flour, cornstarch and mix. With your hands tear up 2 nori sheets into small pieces and place in the bowl. Add spices. Go ahead and add any spices you want from salt, chili pepper, pepper, garlic powder, or fresh garlic. Mix. Now add in the cold soda water and stir until all the ingredients are combined. Set aside.
At this point you will have two stations. The bowl with the flour mixture that we just made, and a second bowl with a lot of breadcrumbs. Simply take your leek rings and dip them first into the flour mixture and then coat them in the breadcrumbs.
Once that is done pour the oil into the pot on high heat and when your oil is hot enough (you'll know its hot because if you place a small piece of coated calamari into the oil it should bubble immediately) place the calamari into the hot oil until golden brown. Remove from oil and place on a plate lined with parchment paper.
For the white sauce:
1 garlic clove
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
fresh dill
dried chili pepper flakes
salt, pepper to taste
juice of 1 lemon
dried chili flakes to taste
Mix in a food processor until smooth and pour into a small dipping bowl.
If you want many calamari rings and sauce you probably need to double the recipe!
Enjoy!
