The Timberwolves clinched a playoff berth for the first time since the 2003-04 season, defeating the Nuggets 112-106 in overtime tonight in Minnesota. Jimmy Butler finished with a team-high 31 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Timberwolves, with Karl-Anthony Towns recording 26 points and 14 rebounds in the game. The Timberwolves finish the season with a 47-35 record (8th in West) with the win, while the Nuggets are eliminated from playoff contention and end the season with a 46-36 record.

To anyone who reads this, this is a poetic journey for the Nuggets. This elimination was a blessing in disguise as it lead to the drafting of porter, and this year the nuggets are in the finals but their journey to get there was a full blown trip down memory lane. Timberwolves in the 1st round (the same team that prevented them from getting into the playoffs as seen in this video), then the Suns (the team that arguably gave Denver its most embarrassing exit in the playoffs in the Jokic/Murray era), The Lakers (Denver was 0-8 In playoff series against the Lakers all time, but now are 1-9 when they SWEPT them, keep in mind that this is the FIRST time the Nuggets ever sweep anyone in franchise history. The Lakers have always prevented Denver from reaching the finals every year they meet in the western conference finals.) And FINALLY all points are indicating that the Heat will beat the Celtics for a Nuggets vs Heat final, this Heat team is lead by none other than JIMMY BUTLER, the same guy responsible for denying Jokic and Murray their first playoff berth. Will Jimmy also prevent Denver from winning its first ever finals as well? Don’t forget the whole Morris/Jokic scuffle (even though Morris isn’t on the heat anymore but Jimmy and the Heat REALLY wanted the smoke). Those who say “Nuggets Vs Heat is gonna be boring” probably have no idea how long in the making this Finals series has been. May the best team win this year 😤

Glad the Timberwolves are in the playoffs, they deserve it more than Denver. If not for Butler getting inured, the could've been much better. I believe they can push the Rockets to 6-7 games if everyone is on.
