I’ve used both of these processors, and I think it’s worth mentioning that they’re not really the same type of processor.
RX does have the noise reduction feature, but it also has other processing filters that Waves Clarity VX does not.
While I’ve found Clarity to be slightly better overall at reducing background noise than RX is, it’s not foolproof, and it can introduce audible artifacts if it’s used on its full reduction setting…and, even though it’s a little better at reducing noise, Clarity VX is a one-trick pony, because its algorithm is designed for reducing background noise on vocals only (singing and dialogue), so, you can’t use it on instruments that may also have background noise problems.
RX does have other features that Clarity VX does not, like de-essing, click and splosive reduction, reverb reduction, and background noise reduction, all of which can be used on other audio sources, such as guitars, strings, etc.
It’s fair to compare these two for their effectiveness at reducing background noise on a sung or spoken word vocal, but basing the overall value of each on just that one application is sorta comparing apples to oranges.
IMHO.

I purchased Clarity Pro the day it was released. It was so good, comparisons seemed unnecessary. I feel the same way now. I’m a big fan and user of iZotope’s products but, following others’ very latest releases presumably improved by AI, they have a lot of work to do in RX.

Listening to this The waves seems to do a better job than the RX
but RX preserves the natural sound and tone of the voice which makes it superior while the Clarity VX seems to be harsh and adds un-wanted processing and volume.

i go with RX all day.
